SEO Engine ‐ Documentation & Engineering Guide
Introducing SEO Engine — a self-hosted, evidence-backed platform for Technical SEO, search visibility analysis, AI Overview (AIO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
The idea is simple:
👉 Don’t just give a website an SEO score.
👉 Collect the evidence, analyse the signals, and explain what can actually be improved.
• Technical SEO & website crawling
• On-page and content SEO
• Site architecture & internal links
• Search rankings & SERP intelligence
• Competitor SEO analysis
• Entity SEO & entity signals
• AI Overview (AIO) visibility
• Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) signals
• Website performance
• Search opportunities
• Prioritized SEO recommendations
• Automated reporting
Search is changing.
Traditional SEO is now increasingly connected with AI search, AI Overviews, and generative search experiences.
That makes visibility analysis more than just checking title tags and meta descriptions.
SEO Engine is my attempt to build an engineering-focused system that brings SEO + Search Intelligence + AIO + GEO into one analysis pipeline, while keeping the evidence behind the results visible.
The core SEO analysis is designed to work without requiring an LLM, while AIO/GEO capabilities can use external providers where appropriate.
The project also focuses heavily on software engineering quality:
✅ Automated testing
✅ Black-box application testing
✅ CI/CD
✅ CodeQL
✅ Dependency auditing
✅ Production Docker configuration
✅ Security controls
✅ API validation
✅ Reproducible analysis
The project is now public and open source.
Developers, SEO professionals, technical SEOs, and anyone interested in SEO engineering, AI search, AIO, or GEO are welcome to explore it, test it, raise issues, or contribute.
