how the make the main sidebar more intuitive to the user

Hey,
Currently the main "navigation" in the app is based in the main left sidebar, this sidebar is packed with options without any logical order, for example dive log and import dive / plan dive is not even close to one and each other, this makes the use in the app bit complex, i will want to impl some mechanism that will ease it.
my options are:

• Grouping
• Favorites section that will allow the user to mark which most used items he want to place there and the order
• simple drag and drop for re ordering
