GSoC 2026 Changes, Current Repository State & Contribution Guidelines

Before starting to contribute, there is a real change which we have done this year during the GSoC period, and I would like contributors to know about it first.

The main purpose of this discussion is to go through what we worked on this summer, what exactly has changed, and what the current state of the repository looks like before you start contributing.

Right now, maintainers are also planning on opening issues and improving the current state of the repositories so that it becomes easier for contributors to pick up issues and contribute without duplicating work that is already being done.

This discussion is mainly about going through the report, which is important because it will also help you understand why exactly we are not reviewing PRs right now and what the plan is going forward.
