- Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
Assalamu Alaikum,
I'm Mikael Abbas, founder of Laitho, an Islam-centric community platform built for Muslims, open to all. We're building a Faith Hub that puts authentic Islamic knowledge (Quran, Hadith, Dua, Prayer) at users' fingertips across web and mobile. Sunnah.com has been a trusted resource for the ummah for years, and we'd love to bring that same standard of hadith authenticity into Laitho.
My contact email is mikael@laitho.com

- Your purpose in using this API:
Laitho is a community platform serving the Muslim community, available on web (Next.js), mobile (React Native/Expo), and desktop. Our Faith Hub includes a dedicated Hadith section where users can browse major and other hadith collections, organised by book and chapter, with Arabic text, English translations, transliterations, and grading information. We will use the sunnah.com API to source authentic, well-structured hadith data to populate and keep our hadith corpus current for our users.
Maximum requests per second: 5
Maximum requests per day: 10,000
(We cache data server-side in PostgreSQL and Redis, so sustained high-frequency calls are not expected. The bulk of requests would occur during initial import and periodic sync operations.)
- Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
An offline dump would actually serve our primary use case well, since we import hadith data into our own PostgreSQL database and serve it to users from there. However, programmatic API access would be valuable for periodic syncs to pick up corrections or additions. If only one option is available, an offline dump is sufficient for launch.
- What are the languages in which you would like hadith data?
Arabic and English.
- What programming language will your API client be in?
TypeScript (Node.js / NestJS backend).
