Your purpose in using this API:
I am developing a Kotlin Multiplatform mobile application called Noor for iOS and Android. The app includes Quran reading, prayer times, qibla, duas, and a planned hadith section. I would like to use the Sunnah.com API to provide access to canonical hadith collections inside the app, especially in Arabic and English, for educational and religious use. The application is intended to be free for end users.
-
API rate limits:
I can't say for sure since the app isn't in production yet.
- Maximum requests per second: 1 request per second
- Maximum requests per day: 5000 requests per day
-
Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
Programmatic API access would be better for the app, since it allows structured access to collections, books, and hadith records and makes it easier to keep the data organized and up to date. If an offline dump is also available, I would be interested in that as a supplementary option for caching.
-
What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
Primarily Arabic, English, Tajik and Russian.
-
What programming language will your API client be in?
Kotlin. The client will be used in a Kotlin Multiplatform application for Android and iOS.
