Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
My name is Junaid Ahmad Noor. I am building a Quran/Hadith-based Dua web application called Dua Library for educational and spiritual use.
Email: imjunaidnoor@gmail.com
Your purpose in using this API:
I want to use the Sunnah.com API to fetch authentic hadith-based supplications (duas), including source references and grades, and display them in a structured Islamic Dua library.
The app also includes Quranic duas and daily adhkar sources, and Sunnah.com references will be shown clearly with links for verification.
API rate limits:
Maximum requests per second: 1 request/second
Maximum requests per day: 5,000 requests/day
Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
Programmatic API access is preferred so the app can stay synchronized with current data and allow controlled, periodic updates.
If available, an offline dump can also be useful as a secondary fallback for reliability.
What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
Arabic and English (primary).
If available in the future, Urdu would also be beneficial.
What programming language will your API client be in?
Python (for ingestion/scraping pipeline) and TypeScript/Node.js (for the web application backend).
