Project Tag Prefix not working as intended

I wanted to replace the default default tag for projects - #project - with #task. However, the plugin does not recognize this change and will not find the "projects" based on this new tag, and also does not visualize the project correctly.

This is how it looks with the old #project tag:

This is how it looks after I changed the setting and renamed the project tag to #task:

to add to that. Before I manually reindex the tasks, the inbox visualization looks like the first image. So it appears like for the state directly after setting this new value, the behaviour is as intended. However, after reindexing the tasks or reopening Obsidian, this change is somehow lost.
