Expose calendars as ICS to subscribe with Google Calendar

Problem / motivation

In order to share the calendar with other people who use Google Calendar it would be handy to have an ICS URL that one could share.
While https://testuser:password@dav.example.org/dav/calendars/test/d0b2bc10-d2d0-4910-b313-3209c900ce53?export works with some applications it doesn't seem to work with Google Calendar.

That's the URI, on which you have control upon creation of the calendar. You can use a password manager to create a random alphanumeric string if you wish for instance, but I don't think it's a good idea to bake in hashes by default in the URI

Does deleting the default calendar have any consequences?
I know it isn't ideal (far from it) from a security perspective but AFAIK it is the only way to subscribe to one with Google calendar.

I tried to create a read-only user and give it access to the calendar and the using the URL like this at it seems to use basic HTTP authentication but doesn't look like Google calendar can then use it but it works in the browser.

Ah it doesn't exposed as an iCal just CalDav. So the feature request would be more to be able to expose a calendar as an iCal (subscription?, feed? I don't know what it is called).

Hmm I can subscribe to a similar url from my Calendar client (Calendar on macOS) without any problems. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Being able to add it to Google Calendar mainly.
I tested it with this app as well, it reports that it can't parse the output.

I don't know why it doesn't work but I let it sit until now and Google Calendar never showed the events.
It worked however with the Android app and Nextcloud.

It's on the sabre/dav side of things - I don't have direct control on how the calendar is exported. There might some specific format for Google Calendar. You could suggest that to the sabre/dav repository directly (might be similar to this).
