Cpal v 0.17 doesn't support PipeWire and PulseAudio hosts, there is reason why you can't directly select virtual sink in some cases.
I'm used the last commit from cpal repo and add drop-down list to select other audio host in linux.
For some reasons when you select "Stereo" in settings and use PipeWire or PulseAudio program drops many bytes of audio and sound quality is getting bad. When you use "Mono" audio quality is normal
This drop-down menu only appears on Linux

Thanks for adding PipeWire and PulseAudio support! I don't have a linux pc so could not test the stereo settings issue. Perhaps cpal is still working on v0.18 for complete support. I'll merge this for now!
