Astroid 3.5.0 brings new tools for building engaging Joomla websites, more flexible article filtering, smoother menu interactions, and improvements to security, privacy, and compatibility.

More control over article content

The Articles Widget can now filter articles by tags and article type, making it easier to show the right content in each module. New onBeforeDisplayContent and onAfterDisplayContent triggers give developers more control over content processing.

New design and interaction options

This release adds the astroid-embed-responsive style for responsive embedded content and includes Countdown.js for countdown displays. Sticky-menu conditions have been updated, and the hover overlay and avatar icon positioning in UK Testimonials Widget have been refined.

Megamenu behavior in click mode has also been improved, including a fix for sub-submenus overlapping other windows. Astroid 3.5.0 also fixes an issue with menu-item image links.

Better security, privacy, and compatibility

Astroid 3.5.0 addresses an HTML-injection issue in the Form Builder and prevents security-sensitive attributes from being overridden. Menu output avoids inline styles to improve compatibility with Content Security Policy (CSP).

To support privacy requirements, you can now disable Google Font Preview. The release also updates the composer library and GSAP, removes jQuery from script.js, and bundles third-party packages in Astroid core. Local font handling, including .woff2 files, and preset import and export have been fixed.

Additional fixes address article data that is not an object, negative values passed to str_repeat(), and link structures.

Astroid 3.5.0 is a practical upgrade for site builders and developers looking for greater flexibility, cleaner integrations, and a more reliable editing experience.
