Pill shape connections not in contact with the node itself

Does the pill shape visually render connections properly?
The following code:

Hello: {style.border-radius: 999}
Hello -> John
Hello -> Tim
Hello -> George

Produces:

Which is not bad but also not as expected. Shouldn't connections start and end in contact with the nodes?
I think it looks worse with grid diagrams:
