I've just made the translation to Spanish.
You may notice many words are incredibly similar to Portuguese - or ever identical. And, by concidence, the mappings.py file had absolutely zero changes.
I wasn't sure abouy what branch I had to put the pull request to. If I've made any mistakes, fell free to make any adjustments or just tell what you need and I'll make another request.
PD: I couldn't compile the .mo file.
