How to push directly to the live site.
Note: don't do this unless you absolutely must bypass dev & test.
git tag | grep pantheon_live_ to get a list of tags used for the live site, like pantheon_live_89. Each time you use the UI to deploy code from test to live, Pantheon creates a new tag, incrementing the last portion.
Check out the tag with the highest number. git checkout pantheon_live_89
Cherry pick the commit(s) from master or develop that you want to deploy to the live site: git cherry-pick abcd1234.
Create new tag, incrementing what you checked out. git tag pantheon_live_90.
Push it to pantheon. git push origin --tags
You'll get a message in the terminal like "The creation of tag "pantheon_live_79" has triggered a deployment of code on live." And the dashboard will confirm it.
Since you cherry-picked a commit that was already on master, there shouldn't be any surprises when you finally to pull from dev to test to live.
Final note: Pantheon does not do any merging when moving code from dev to test to live. It essentially just does a checkout each time.
