Release Candidate (RC) for v0.37.0

As many will already have noticed, I have released a (first) release candidate for openEMS version 0.37.0.

I am aware that up to this point the version numbers were v0.0.36, but I have decided that this "patch" level number is not really a good idea. Thus I have simply moved the number up to the "minor" version spot which leaves room for a real patched version (e.g. v0.37.1) if that should become necessary.

Please go ahead and test the Windows build and especially the python extensions as this is now all build using the github CI system.

Let me know if you find any issues or if everything works fine for you.

Until a final release I will work on the documentation which needs an update too.

As you may have noticed, I have created another RC (rc-2)

We have unfortunately some breaking changes in CSXCAD so make sure to rebuilt all together. Also the documentation has seen massive updates and some improvements that came up while checking all the tutorials.

Please test (e.g. run all tutorials and read the new docu) and give some feedback. There were almost none for rc1 (I assume that is good too?)
I want to have a final release soon...

The zip should come with all the tutorials under D:\openEMS\python\Tutorials Maybe the new loop coil has additional issues on windows. I think I will have to setup a VM to test myself more.

Confirmed, it is there, I just missed it.

But if you look at my log above, it complains about a missing .h5 at d:\resources. That folder does not exist on my machine.
There are no .h5 files included in the openEMS folder unzipped from the build artefact.

Well that is another issue... the resources should have been bundled into the zip, but they are not. And the path discovery is not good either if like you the tutorial is run from a different place... But that is why I was asking for testing...

I do not really have something like this. Just run as many of the tutorials as you have time for

On the first run, Microsoft Defender security triggered a few on-line virus checks taking 10s each each

That still happens whenever I run a new Python session that uses AppCSXCAD: Virus checker sends data for analysis off to the web server. This did not happen with previous AppCSXCAD.

Hi Thorsten,

RC3 installs ok on my machine.
The MRI example also runs ok, the failure was my mistake: I ran an older MRI coil copy from a different path.

No issues found.

We have yet another RC: openEMS v0.37.0-rc3

Please all Windows user, give it a good test and give feedback. RC2 had issues with python missing some dll and conflicting dll between hdf5 and h5py.
