Did you already notice that openEMS has no automatic meshing? It might be easiest if you export the mesh lines from CST and use these exact mesh lines in your openEMS model also. Not 1:1 exact because openEMS had no Perfect Boundary Approximation, but the best you can do here. This is what I also use in my internal tool that takes openEMS models to the commercial Empire XPU solver: transfer the exact mesh lines, as is. Only if the target system itself has automatic meshing, you can then switch to automatic meshing in the target system, after transferring the entire model. |

Hello, I want to do something intresting to compare actual commertial CST simulation to OPEN EMS with the same model.Time domain solver in CST is the FIT method.
The main thing is the Mesh properties i want to recreate in CST.
Two questions:
1.General mesh :
As you can see in photo 4 there is global mesh seeting like
"cells per wavelength near to model" 20
"fraction of maximul cell near to model" 100
What are their equivalent in OpenEMS?
2.local mesh:
additional fine cells across model model box 3
fraction of maximum cell near to model 4
additional cells around edge 6
What do you think will be the best way to recreate these CST settings into open ems?

Thanks.
