Solarbank E1600 loses WiFi if Anker App gets opened

Hey there,
maybe it’s just a coincidence but I recently semi automated the first gen E1600 solarbank. That works as long as I don’t open the anker app.

If I open it, it’s a 50/50 chance it breaks and loses its wifi connection.
Based on my router logs it keeps trying to reconnect and loses it again and again... for a few minutes up to a few hours.

Sensors in that time span get updates very sporadic.. and only some of them at all...

Example: The DC output got an update while solarenergy and battery output stayed at 0 w

In the home assistant debug logs is nothing unusual.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

The automation updates the schedule every 10 minutes if the required power (rounded to 50w) changed.

I never read about such issue. Since the server allows multiple client logins for the same account, there should be no kick off anymore.

Well, it was worth a try if someone else had such issue.
Maybe it’s just my shitty wifi connection into my garage, although I thought -60dbm signal strength should be enough for that solarbank.

Imo the anker app still behaves weired if it loses it’s connection but that’s another problem. Would be much more helpful if it just really loses it’s connection instead of endlessly reconnecting and not getting anywhere with it. Just now the connection stalled again, the sensors keep reporting solarpower, the temperature sensor is gone and on my router, although the solarbank has a connection, it does not even have an assigned ip.. no idea what’s wrong with my solarbank xD

Any way, have good (hopefully not so boiling hot) day. Issue is very likely on my end and not with the integration

The Anker devices cannot handle mesh networks, and may reconnect to far away endpoints.
You may need to give the closes endpoint another fixed SSID and use that for the Solarbank, to ensure it reconnects always to the closeest access point.
But I cannot give you advise on Wifi issues with the Anker devices, those are discussed broadly in PV forums.

And by the way, if you connect somehow via BT to the solarbank, the Wifi will be closed. BT and Wifi at same time does not seem to be possible by the Anker devices, since they may interfere with their ESP communications.

It already got a dedicated SSID. I searched through half the internet to find something helpful.. this post here was more like my last idea.
It’s also quite hard to debug as I’m obviously not always sitting in my garage and also not watching the HA Integration or the app all day long. Sometimes it can go for a week and everything is fine and sometimes it does not even work half day.. and it occures what feels like completely random.

I’ll just keep watching it and keep tinkering the settings here and there and maybe someday it’ll just work like I want it to.
It could also be just a hardware issue.. too hot, too cold.. or something faulty on the solarbank itself... who knows..

btw.. off topic: Is there a difference in setting the desired output (Einspeisevorgabe, what’s the english word, output preset?) via the update schedule action or directly via the number sensor (System Einspeisevorgabe)... the latter one seems to update less frequently, or at least takes a few moments longer to update.

No, both change the schedule and apply the new schedule. The action just allows to change more fields at the same time, and to change another time slot or weekday, if there are multiples defined. For a single schedule slot, there is essentially no difference.

You can add multiple users - but only one admin. each user needs a different emailaddress. so if you are using the same emailadress in the app as in HA - thats the issue! it closes every time the other connection as you log in from a different device with same emailaddress.....

No, that is not valid anymore since mid of 2025. I use multiple logins in parallel with the same admin account
