Community Showcase: A Dedicated Place for Solutions Built Around ThunderID

ThunderID is showing up in some interesting places: conference talks, hackathons, meetups, and beyond. In these settings, people are building customized apps and configuring ThunderID in creative ways to demonstrate how it can solve specific, real-world use cases.

These solutions are genuinely valuable, but they are also very context-specific and not the kind of general end-to-end scenarios that official quickstarts or similar places target. Yet they are exactly the kind of thing that could spark an idea for someone else trying to figure out how ThunderID fits their situation.

Right now, there is no central place for any of this to land, and that feels like a missed opportunity for the community.
Is there appetite for a community-maintained space to share and discover these kinds of solutions?

Whether you have already felt this gap firsthand, wanting somewhere to bootstrap your next solution or share your work with both your audience and the wider ThunderID community, or you simply think this is something the community would benefit from, drop a comment. In terms of what we need to solve in the process of getting this done we need to sort:

1. Where should these maintained?
2. What is the scope of content?
3. What is the structure?
4. Who owns and maintains these?
5. Where we link this space from?

We need to brainstorm whether there are other aspects to consider.

My proposal is to:

1. Where should these maintained?
   A separate dedicated repo under thunder-id git org
2. What is the scope of content?
   All the source code related to supporting apps, declarative resource to boostrap thunder configs, readme to indicate the use-case, solution, instructions to setup, any other related resources like links to original presentation, videos, blogs, etc.
3. What is the structure?
   Root readme to capture solutions catalog, each solution resources maintained in a directory in the root.
4. Who owns and maintains these?
   Initially Thunder maintainers to own the governance, but later to be given to the community ambassadors, when such program in place
5. Where we link this space from?
   Refer from the docs or the website and refer from the thunderid readme as well.

Beyond just capturing solutions, I also see this as a meaningful step forward for the ThunderID community itself:

• This would be an interesting place for newcomers to discover what is possible with ThunderID, helping bring in and engage new community members
• This opens up an easier and more accessible way for community members to contribute back to the project, without needing to dive into the core product
• Longer term, this could serve as a foundation for community programs like ambassador initiatives built around recognizing and promoting community-driven work
