But I did manage to send a polite email to kundenbetreuung@volkswagen.de. |

I searched the Cariad website and found a nasty surprise. As it appears, access to the new (?) API and its documentation requires a so called "ONE BUSINESS" account which is verified by Cariad - and it is mandatory that the account holder has "power of attorney" to sign contracts for his enterprise. So apart from technical questions, Cariad apparently aims to sell access to the data. No mention of "private user" was given, and also home automation or open access is not any topic relevant for them. Regards pah |

I have really hard time to understand VW approach and lack of communication from their side make it even worst. I have withdraw all my data sharing consents to VW until I see some reason to share my car data again. |

Apparently, some have found a solution robinostlund/volkswagencarnet#333 that seem to work, if it can help ... :) |

I think it's just a matter of time until they close that "loophole" as well :-(. |

In Germany, you can try this complaint procedure: evcc-io/evcc#23684 (comment) |

Well, in view of the fact that the EU Data Act is German federal law starting exactly on May 30, Volkswagen is currently violating this law. See https://www.recht.bund.de/bgbl/1/2026/157/VO.html The German Bundesnetzagentur is responsible for controlling the law, and offers a form for complaints: https://www.bundesnetzagentur.de/DE/Fachthemen/Digitales/DataAct/Beschwerdeportal/start.html Regards pah Edit: Done. |

Related, VW made an announcement about it. They have been working with the representatives of the OpenSource community 🤡 tillsteinbach/CarConnectivity-connector-volkswagen#110 (comment) |

Since Thursday May 28 my carconnectivity installation can no longer access the VW server.
More information can be found here evcc-io/evcc#30280
And the primary notice from Cariad, the software daughter of Volkswagen, may be found here: https://drivesomethinggreater.com/newsroom/short-news/2026-4-02-Transition
As one may read there, the services are disconnected per week 21 - that is the previous week, the date fits.
I suggest than every affected user writes a protest mail to kundenbetreuung@volkswagen.de as well as using the contact form
https://drivesomethinggreater.com/contact-us
