Sidebar thoughts

The newly introduced sidebar is a great addition to PN. I have a couple of thoughts and wonder what you/others think about it.

There is also a little bug that shows the sidebar on some pages in a light theme instead of dark theme (when dark is the main).

The inconsitency

Some pages show the sidebar and some don't.

Preferred behaviour

You want a single place of action to navigate to any UI page.

Examples

• Let's say you are on the Tasks page. To navigate to the Notes Tree you have to select 'Notes' on the top of the page.
• If you are in the Tree view and want to navigate to the Task view you select from the sidebar.
• If you are on the Settings page and want to go to the Tasks view you need to go to Notes or Dashboard first and then you can select Tasks.

Possible Solution

My suggestion would be:

1. The sidebar is static and visible on ALL pages no matter where you are in PN. That way there is a consistent area for navigation moving to any page required.
2. The items on the sidebar:
   Home: The main page 'Notes' (with the notes tree)
   Dashboard:
   [Then all the others]: what's currently on the sidebar
   Settings:
   About:
   Logout:

Because of so many great additions to PN over the last few weeks, I feel the UI has become a bit fractured.

This is of course my personal view and others may disagree.
