Linking notes from other workspaces

This is more of a question. Is it by design (or technical limitations) that notes can only be linked within a workspace and not user wide?

Not a deliberate limitation, the link picker just only lists notes from the current workspace. There's actually a related bug: a link pasted by hand to a note in another workspace currently opens the wrong note instead of switching workspace. I'll fix that, and look at letting the picker (and backlinks) search across all your workspaces.
