SMTP problem #1592

Hi Stéphane, your SMTP setup is fine, the sender address is not the problem. The "Send test email" button sends the test to the email address of the account you are signed in with, not to the sender address. Your account email is the one that came from your OIDC provider, so the SMTP server rejects it as a recipient. That is what the 550 "Recipient address rejected" means. I agree the page does not make this clear at all, and I will fix that. The same applies to every email Poznote sends (reminders, task due dates, workspace activity): they all go to the account email. So in your case none of them can be delivered for now. Changing the email on your account in the Users page will not really help either, because Poznote copies the email from the OIDC provider again at each SSO login and would overwrite it. That is a gap on my side: nothing lets you keep a real address when the provider sends one that cannot receive mail. I will add a way to do that and let you know here when it is available. |

Could you please test the beta? Thanks. |
Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
This is not a bug, but a problem question.
I have tried to update my SMTP email setting in PN to be able to receive notification emails.
When I tried in the past to set up OIDC I had to use an email that actually doesn't exists. I use Tailscale TSIDP server. My Tailscale authenticates through my GitHub account.
Now the problem is that when I set up SMTP (using a real real email address in the Sender email field) PN want's to send using the fake email and throws this error:
SMTP configuration saved, but the test email failed: Unexpected SMTP response 550: 550 5.1.2 <fake@email>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not foundMaybe it's just me not understanding how to set up SMTP correctly. The sender email in
SMTP provideris actually a real address. All reactions
