New HR system

I have just uploaded the HR system. This is based on a system I wrote several years ago, and I have updated it. The original came with a location specific payroll system and I have (hopefully) untangled that. I have included an extensive manual with it.

The HR module provides the following capabilities:

    Employee Master Data: Maintain complete employee records including personal information, contact details, emergency contacts, employment history, and documents

    Organizational Structure: Define departments, positions, and reporting hierarchies to model your organization

    Employment Types: Support for full-time, part-time, contract, and temporary employment arrangements

    Compensation Management: Track salary history, manage pay grades, process salary increases, and maintain compensation guidelines

    Performance Management: Configure review cycles, define skills, use rating scales, and conduct structured performance appraisals

    Recruitment: Post requisitions, track applicants through the hiring pipeline, and convert applicants to employees

    Training & Development: Track employee skills, identify skill gaps, and manage training programs

    Safety Management: Record and track workplace safety incidents and maintain compliance records

    Employee Self-Service: Allow employees to view their information and submit appraisal inputs

    Reporting & Analytics: Generate comprehensive reports on all aspects of HR operations

    Audit Trail: Complete history of all changes to HR data

It seems like a massive improvement!

I will install ASAP and give it a serious test and setup. A couple of weeks ago I was looking into OrangeHR and how to integrate it in webERP, so your module just came in-time.

Thanks Tim, so much better than a master employee spreadsheet on the side! I'm looking forward to learning more and at least browsing the documentation.

One question for now, does the HR system integrate with or replace the existing Manufacturing Employees functionality (Employees.php)?

P.S. I'm especially interested in the "Training & Development" features and how they can be used to demonstrate employee competence for performing specific manufacturing tasks as part of a QMS based on webERP.

Good question Dale. Part of upgrading to the new HR system, imports employees from the old employees table into the hremployees table. The question is what should happen to the old employees table. It is only used in Timesheets.php as far as I can see. Should Timesheets.php be changed to use hremployees, and the old employees table dropped?

I say YES to consolidate information and simplify the schema.

Agree! consolidate and keep one table.

Pushing this a bit further, some info is duplicated in HR employees and www_users table (name, email, phone, etc).
Yes, we can have external webERP users not being employees and employees not being webERP users, so I'm unsure on thius one. Just pointing the issue out.

I think it would be a massive code improvement to compile all addresses in webERP in a table (suppliers, customers, shipments, etc). I guess that was the idea behind addressbookid but it is a wide system change and we should tackle it independently in another discussion and time.

Good point. The initial system was written for somewhere that always paid in one currency so it didn't matter. Let me add that to my todo list

Tim, Walking through the HR Module. Great work. Very comprehensive in terms of features and capabilities.
I can't find any code referencing creating hraudittrail database records, only the SQL to create the table and the HRAuditTrail.php to report on it. Is that still in process or did I miss some code updates?

Hi Andrew, no I didn't intend to commit that, it isn't needed because of the webERP audit trail. This HR system was a standalone sytem I wote a while ago for someone else. I have a few updates to commit, and I will include this in them. Probably be tomorrow now because of football :-)

I am revising now Performance Reviews, criteria, rating scales, etc. to get to the employee performance appraisal, but there are sone logical steps missing (or I'm unable to make it work and detect the issue). Most probably you have the missing links somewhere ;-)
Once you commit the updates, I'll continue evaluating and testing it.
