USB-C to 3.5mm headphones do not disconnect

Description of bug:

Music does not stop playing when headphones connected via the Pixel 2's USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is disconnected from the device.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Have music playing and disconnect the USB-C adapter.

Expected outcome:

Music should pause automatically.

I can't reproduce this issue, which makes it very difficult to solve. I am not presently working on this issue.

On Pixel 2 XL. Cannot reproduce. Music pauses reliably every time I disconnect the USB C adapter. v2.0.8-beta4.

If it helps, I've noticed something... When I disconnect the usbC adapter the time counter appears to want to stop... The number freezes for about a second before continuing to increment. It's almost as though something causes the music to restart immediately after the pause command is triggered
