Pane contents: length limit?

I was just troubleshooting an issue which caused over 3 million lines to be logged, and I have my tmux history set to Really Large...so it takes a really long time for the session to save (a minute or two). I assume it's because of the pane contents.

Is my best bet just to close that pane and reopen it fresh?
