Sort by old and new - Old is not sorting correctly
Add a comment on a category post
Come back to the categories and try sorting by old and new

Sorting is not working based on the latest change(comment). When we say New shouldn't we except the newest categories/discussions on top?(and vice versa on old)

I've checked how it works in the old forum. You are right, the posts sorted by last added comments.
Moreover, any edit changes also affect the sort. I'll fix it.

Sorting after adding new discussions

Announcements are always displayed before discussions. The same feature is implemented in the old forum. One difference is that announcements are always sorted by desc in the old forum.
Vanilla sorts announcements and discussions. Let me know if it should be changed.

@jmgasper I am working on it. This task takes longer than expected to fulfill the first requirement.
All Vanilla Entities have DateInserted/DateUpdated columns, but Date Updated is used only in one case to indicate that a record has been edited. These fields are not used in any calculations/aggregations. The main select queries uses DateInserted.

Also need to fix 'Most recent' (who edited a comment/post) for consistency because a recent user is always a post/comment's author.

I've fixed Discussion Model and Comment Model, I am going to update Category Model tomorrow.

Before my changes: By default Vanilla uses only DateInserted in select queries So the last date is always DateInserted (discussion or comment). DateUpdated is only displayed if the record has been edited by someone.

Now the last date can be any of InsertedDate(discussion), UpdatedDate(discussion), InsertedDate(comment) or UpdatedDate(comment). After deploying deploying you'll notice some changes. 'Most recent' - user who made changes recently.
It'll works with existing data as well.

Recommendation for testing

Use different users for adding/editing discussions/comments. Perhaps this will help you find issues if they exist.
Vanilla uses smart date time formatting. Use mouse over to see full date time and who has made changes.
