Get sdist/wheel path rather than installing package?

I'm possibly confused as to how tox is now set up, but is it possible to get the path to the sdist/wheels that have been built so that they can be passed to twine check?

This is not really possible today 🤔

I'm happy to make a PR for this, but I'd want some guidance around preferred designs/what designs should be avoided (I can make an issue to discuss this).
