#293 skipped verify_credentials for minted credentials on a wrong premise; the real cause was a CLI bug (tracebloc/cli#125) writing the numeric id instead of the UUID username as the auth credential. With cli#125 fixed (v0.5.1), restore the canary so bad credentials fail loudly at install (Step 5) rather than crash-looping the pod.
Depends on tracebloc/cli#126 being released as v0.5.1 first. Part of RFC-0001 (backend#830), installer credential handoff (#838).
