Hi @onkelfu — thanks for the detailed write-up, and good catch. Short version: part of what you want is already there, but the deadline/grid-guarantee part is not yet shipped in beta.18. Where the daily-target settings actually liveThey're not in the device-configuration dialog (that dialog only wires Control type + Control entity — you read it right). The daily target lives inline on the Control dashboard, on the device's own row:
In fact your Poolfilter already shows "0.3 / 9 h with solar today", which is exactly that progress bar — so it's already in Surplus mode with a 9 h target set. Just drag that slider to 8 h and you've got your minimum-runtime goal. 👍 What is not available in beta.18 (so your full setup isn't possible yet)
So your "guarantee 8 h by 20:00, topping up from grid/battery if PV was short" isn't configurable today. You're also right that the README oversells this a bit — the 5 kWh/day energy goal, dual slider, cheap-hours top-up and guaranteed-by-deadline aren't all live for switch loads in beta.18. I've logged that plus your request as an enhancement: #620 (guaranteed-by-deadline top-up + max-cap + policy picker), noted for the maintainer. Thanks for flagging it! |

Hi,
according to the current README, SEM supports:
"Daily targets for household loads — give any switch a daily goal
(e.g. pool pump ≥ 4 h/day or 5 kWh/day, set on an EV-style dual slider):
runs on surplus first, then per policy — solar-only, cheap-hours top-up,
or guaranteed by a deadline."
This is exactly what I need for my pool filter.
However, I cannot find these settings in the current UI.
For my "Poolfilter" load, the Control dashboard currently shows:
"0.3 / 9 h with solar today"
The device configuration dialog only allows me to configure:
I cannot find:
My desired configuration would be:
Poolfilter
insufficient PV was available
Is the "Daily targets for household loads" feature already available in
the current beta?
If yes, where can these settings be configured?
Or is the backend functionality already implemented/documented but the
configuration UI not yet available?
Thanks!
