Does this template work and its still being maintained?

I ended up here after some challenges with the webpack template and reviewing the documentation http://nativescript-vue.netlify.com/ which states that the rollup-template was good to go

Originally a fork from rigor789's, this template is currently the most stable and feature complete. You can see it in action in the 🍏 🍍 🍓 Groceries Vue app. It supports:

We are deprecating this template in favor of the webpack one. Some things may have changed and I haven't tested this template in a while.

Check the Groceries Vue app for an example of a working app using the webpack template.

The webpack on doesn’t work either.... it looks like it was hacked together to work for the groceries demo - but to use in a real project on multiple dev machines it’s not there yet... check my thread on the issue I opened over there. Without a sustainable, manageable way to support single file components, not sure how this is viable for production? I can provide more info... but not sure where, the doc says use this template and you say use the webpack template. This looks like it has lots of potential so I am excited to find a solution.
