0.7 Walking through the TAP console
This tutorial walks you through the major console screens of the Trusted Analytics Platform (TAP) to get you familiar with what’s there. After walking through the console screens, you’ll be ready to dive deeper in your specific areas of interest.
TAP includes a Marketplace of Services to help you with data analytics, app development, and system monitoring. The screenshot below shows the selection of services for the search term “Analytic” from the full suite of 41 supported services.
TAP allows you to:
- Import data in batch mode
- Schedule a one time or regular ingestion of data
- Ingest streaming data.
TAP’s Data catalog tab allows you to do a batch mode import of data in a variety of supported data formats (see below)
TAP’s Job Scheduler lets you to schedule periodic data imports in one of the supported data formats (see the two screens below)
You can configure channels for importing streaming data from live data sources using services like Apache Gearpump (shown below)
The Data Science capability provides access to deep machine-learning algorithms that are part of the custom-built Analytics Toolkit.
The App Development tab lets you push your own app to the TAP platform, using CF CLI commands. Sample CLI commands help get you started. A selection of installers are available if you prefer that to a CLI approach. Once installed in the platform, you can run your apps from the Applications tab.
Select and run stored Apps for displaying your analytics from the Applications catalog tab.
The Dashboard, User management, and Event Log capabilities allow you to manage TAP to help your team get to its goals. You can manage the system via the Dashboard tab, manage users via the User management tab (the Manage organization users screen is shown below), and inspect system events via the Event Log.
Now that you’ve finished this walkthrough, you can go explore the TAP capabilities more deeply for yourself.
