This is another issue for information only, I don't need anything. I post it in case it is of use to anyone as a starting point. I haven't been home for a while, and have always wanted a decent portable way of playing books that's not a phone because I want something which will let me do lots of buttons without completely ripping me off. I got a model to write a version of PB for the terminal and put it on my raspberry pi. I have done my best to break it, and run it through two other models which have found things to fix. It's at the point where I am having trouble breaking it. It uses speech dispatcher with a continuing socket and is fairly quick. I set up a mode for a tiny game controller (up and down arrow cycles through word/20 lines/section/heading), and left and right go to the previous and next navigation object. The open/close/say all are mapped to other buttons on the controller, which is a tiny one. If there's a keyboard, then it can use that with all the keystrokes available, I often have a keyboard because I have a NVDA remote client on the pi. There is no visual stuff at all. There's no reason anyone should want this, particularly because I don't understand the code at all, and it's something which anyone could write with a model. But I've used the tokens, so if anyone does want it, I thought I would throw this out there so people know it exists. If this is as uninteresting as I think it is, feel free to close this issue. I post it here because it uses PB's book parsing, all I had the model do was the interface and speech.
