Help to improve the Kvantum and LXQt experience on Lubuntu

Hello, I'm trying to enable Snap apps to use lxqt-qtplugin and Kvantum to improve the Lubuntu experience. I'm trying to do this through the lxqt-support snaps.

I've already added the necessary things to Snapcraft.

I'm not asking you to deal with any code involving Snap.

But I need the support/trust of the LXQt and Kvantum developers.

I'm only asking if you can discuss the automatic connection of lxqt-support snaps, so that users don't need to use commands to connect lxqt-support snaps to Snap apps that use the kde-neon-6 extension.

Speaking just as another user and packager, I believe such trust takes years to build.

I wouldn't put my stamp on something I don't use, and as such, don't know what it even does, really, especially when asked for it by someone I don't even know from before.

Not that I suspect anything weird going on here, just a healthy dose of paranoid always being applied. :]

I know I'm unknown to you all, but I've been in the Ubuntu and Snap community for over a year trying to improve the user experience, whether it's involving themes, packaging apps, trying to improve Snap integration with LXQt, that sort of thing.

Lubuntu already uses LXQt and Kvantum, what I want is simply for Snap apps to also be able to use lxqt-qtplugin and Kvantum, so that the user experience is consistent.

I know a year is a short time, but the point is that I want to solve problems that have existed for years as soon as possible.

I've used LXQt and Lubuntu before; LXQt and Kvantum are amazing, but unfortunately many apps aren't distributed via native packages in all distros, so the use of lxqt-qtplugin and Kvantum becomes very limited.

I don't quite see the 'need' here either, though.

Just like I'm packaging all of LXQt for Gentoo Linux, I'm not asking the LXQt developers to trust me. It's up to users of the packages to trust me (or/and verify the packages trustworthy).

There may be mentions in READMEs about such packages being available, but that's about as far as it usually goes as far as I know for pretty much any open-source project and packages.

Some will produce their own packages and installers, but alternatives still exist (like on Gentoo Linux, things are usually built from sources instead of serving the upstream packages/installers).

Is there something relevant documented for Snapcraft?

Going back to the "confirming that it's nothing malicious" bit a bit, that certainly would require getting familiar with the process quite a bit, and when not even using Snap-things at all, that's probably not going to happen.

While really appreciating what you and all package maintainers do, and agreeing with @Chiitoo, I think the support you need should be provided by Lubuntu — at least in the case of LXQt, which they use.
