Aura filters in retail

All the below mentioned "filter lists" are official Blizzard APIs.
Filtering in retail is very basic starting in patch 12.0 and going forward.
It is no longer possible to implement custom "Whitelists" and "Blacklists" based on names or IDs.

Can I reposition spell x or y ?

• Addons don't get access to aura data such as name or ID.
• Everything mentioned above is impossible unless the ID is part of the list further down this page.

Why is there no highlight for dispellable debuff xyz ?

• If the usual frame coloring highlight does not work for a very specific mechanic/debuff,
  that means Blizzard flagged it as a "Private Aura" and there is nothing you can do about it
  other than displaying the Private Aura container on the frame.

How can I hide aura x or y from my frames ?

• Not possible unless the id is part of the spells listed further down this page.

How can I show aura x or y on my frames ?

• Not possible unless the id is part of the spells listed further down this page,
  in which case you can go in Filters > Aura Indicator(Class) and configure them
  from the Dropdown called "Select Spell".

How to add or remove filters in ElvUI

Go into the options tab for whatever Unitframe or Nameplate you want to edit.
Click on Auras and then select either Buffs, Debuffs or Custom.
In each tab you'll find "Filters" in which you can select from the below mentioned.

Main checkboxes

Player:

• Displays all auras cast by yourself.
• Checking this overrides all choices made inside the "Player" group.

Player Dispellable:

• Displays all auras your current specialization and talent setup can dispell.
• Only works for highlighting/glow and only shows icons if the aura is not flagged "Private".

Blocklist:

• Blocks all listed ids from showing up on the frame.
• Full list of ids/spells is listed further down this page under "More whitelisted IDs".
• You can not add more ids to this list. Blizzard pre-defined this list.

Player & Others Checkboxes

Important: Displays "Important" auras. There is no documentation or info whether an aura is important or not.

Raid: Displays "Raid" auras. This is usually everything you apply except mounts, tabards and other permanent auras.
Raid Frames: Displays Blizzards "Hots and Shields"-Whitelist (List of spells posted below).

Is Cancelable: Displays buffs which you are able to cancel using right-click or /cancelaura name.
Not Cancelable: Displays buffs which you can not cancel using right-click or /cancelaura name.

Crowd Control: Displays "CC" debuffs. There is no documentation or info whether a debuff is considered CC or not.

Big Defensive: Displays "Big Defensive" buffs. There is no documentation whether a buff is considered a Big Defensive or not.
External Defensive: Displays buffs like Pain Suppression and Life Cocoon. There is no list of included auras in this filter.
