siplogview

Command-line Perl script to parse SIP log files generated by open-source Sippy B2BUA-based soft-switches (e.g. PortaSIP or Sippy Softswitch). siplogview can fetch all SIP messages within a SIP dialog specified by Call-ID and build a nice ASCII or HTML-based interactive SIP dialog scenario.

The tool doesn't require Java or any other heavy server side software. All you need is Perl.

Initially was published on SourceForge under BSD 2-Clause License.

What do (B? 200/I) ♪ INVITE and (Ab 102/C) ! 200 canceling mean?

Look at two examples: "(B? 200/I) ? INVITE" and "(Ab 102/C) ! 200 canceling":

  • INVITE and 200 canceling are SIP request and SIP reply accordingly.

  • 200/I and 102/C are abbreviated notations of "CSeq:" SIP header ("CSeq: 200 INVITE" and "CSeq: 102 CANCEL" accordingly in our example).

  • melody sign ♪ - the SIP message contains SDP packet incapsulated;

  • exclamation sign ! means that the SIP message contains "Warning:" SIP header;

  • B? and Ab are auto-generated by the viewer two-letter dialog ID, the first capital letter ('A'..'Z') encodes unique combination of "Call-ID:" SIP header and "Local Tag" parameter, the second small letter ('a'..'z') uniquely encodes combination of "Call-ID:" SIP header, "Local Tag" parameter and "Remote Tag" parameter (it is ? if "Remote Tag" parameter is absent in the message).
