Attach emails and meetings to tasks / custom objects (1-to-N exchanges)
#27223
We run a self-hosted Twenty (v2.43) to manage our activities: events, a SaaS product, freelance missions. Our contacts, companies, projects and tasks live there, and our emails are synced from Gmail.
What we need
We track our exchanges one by one. An "exchange" is a 1-to-N follow-up with a person or a company — a native task or a custom object — that contains several emails over time: first contact, follow-ups, replies… with a state (to contact / waiting reply / to answer / to follow up) and a deadline.
The problem, concretely
Take "getting ACME to sponsor the 2027 edition":
over six months, this exchange contains around fifteen emails;
exchanged with three different people.
Six months later, to pick the file back up, we need to open the task and immediately find the related emails. Today, that's impossible.
What exists today
Email threads only link to People / Companies / Opportunities.
So we can access the emails from the person's record — but that's not a solution: the emails are not linked to the task, and six months later nobody finds the right email without an investigation.
What we would need
The ability to attach one or several emails to a native task or a custom object — the same way tasks can already target custom objects (TaskTarget.custom);
and to list those emails from the record.
The same need applies to meetings (calendar events).
Use cases
Event sponsors and partners — follow-up over several months, multiple contacts;
freelance missions — client conversations attached to the mission;
customer follow-up — attached to a support task.
