Armor Durability Cap

Armor Durability Cap limits how much durability armor can lose from a single hit.

The mod works with vanilla armor and is compatible with modded armor that uses standard durability behavior.

Why use it

  • Prevents armor from losing too much durability in one hit
  • Makes high-damage combat less punishing for gear
  • Helps balance modpacks, bosses, PvP, and custom combat setups
  • Supports both simple and advanced configuration

Config types

  • basic config: quick setup for most players
  • advanced config: detailed rules for modpacks and servers

Start here

How it works

By default, the mod limits durability loss per hit using a percent-based cap, with optional flat cap and rounding control.

If you need more control, the advanced config lets you create separate rules for:

  • specific items
  • armor slots
  • item tags
  • damage types
  • damage tags

Notes

  • After changing config files, restart the game or server
  • The advanced config is generated only when requested from the basic config
