Dear All,
Unless the mentor specifically asks for it, use GitHub for the communications.

It is ok to send emails to discuss the architecture you specifically propose. But please refrain from sending emails to general topics that can be discussed in public GitHub forums linked in https://github.com/uaanchorage/GSoC

Such open discussions allow broader participation and avoids the mentors having to reply to the same question to multiple students repeatedly.

Our communication policy, as noted in https://github.com/uaanchorage/GSoC clearly states the below:
Please avoid sending individual private emails (or social media messages!!) to mentors. However, the mentors' emails with each project idea are listed below in case the mentor initiates or recommends an email communication later. If you are proposing your own idea, make sure that idea is relevant to Alaska and has a potential mentor from the list of mentors below.
