How do I enable hibernation? And why is it not supported out of the box?

I really like your images, but wonder why hibernation is not supported out of the box.

Is it so difficult to enable it? I really need hibernation.

Hibernation is not supported by Fedora either.

That's not correct, at least since Fedora 41. Adding a dedicated swap partition in the installer is all which is required, hibernation will then be available without further steps being required:

Not officially supported still. You can manually probably set it up but we won't support it.

At least we don't. And as far as I know even Fedora doesn't officially support it. It also has issues with secure boot etc.

Too bad. As far as I know, it is mandatory for encryption—sleep won't encrypt anything and so the device would be left in an unprotected state.
