I have no idea what any of this means. I thought Bluefin was a project to create a stable, atomic Linux environment?

Atomic is a Fedora brand. (The videos are just a fun way to get people onto the training program.)

I'm also more and more lost on what's going on. Great the devs are having lots of fun accelerating OS development. But clueless what that means for end users who were attracted to this part of the mission:

The project strives for a minimalistic approach to serve the audience that is currently not using Linux. The project targets the 96%, not the 4%.

In the meantime there doesn't seem to be a rulebook about what's added to the opinionated part and what's not. Having a look at the pre-installed extensions I noticed I only use two.
Things like Tailscale pre-installed while that's clearly not targeting the 96%?

I'm still a huge fan. Just a little worried for the actual users of Bluefin that are not developers and just want a great and easy to use out of the box system that doesn't require much attention and stays consistent :)

I do like seeing the huge enthusiasm in these discussions and blog video (rec: also provide a written blog.. not everyone is going to take time to watch and listen). But the enthusiasm seems really about building stuff.. not about the Bluefin experience itself for end users?

I don't think normal users would use tailscale they would just wouldn't use it. As far as writing everything down I do try my best but sometimes we just move too fast - everything is in git it'd be easy for people to follow along - someone find a linux content provider that doesn't suck to do it I guess?

For this part there's really not much going on that is visible, all the changes are how we make it not the end user part. We're adding a few extensions to reach win/mac parity but as far as everything else we've been mostly feature complete for ... 2 or 3y now I think? Part of the appeal is that the desktop is basically finished, it's always kind of been ubuntu with bootc.

EDIT: I'll just whip up a screenshot and draft post with the user facing stuff. Now that I am looking there's quite a bit!
