Bigger Notes add/edit modal & wider notes in overview

I wish the notes modal was wider on desktop. Currently the text-area is pretty narrow and adding/editing a note isn't a great UX. Maybe it could be an option or a button on the modal to make it wider/fullscreen instead of what it is currently.

On the same subject, I also think the main overview of all the notes is squishing each notes into a very small card that makes it annoying and confusing to navigate between everything. Maybe the layout could be configure so you can chose how many columns per rows are shown ?

Two separate things, and I agree with the first one straight away.

The edit dialog. A note is the one thing in Yuvomi that is mostly a block of text, and it gets the same dialog width as a form with four short fields. That is the dialog being consistent where it should not be. Making it wider on desktop is the right fix, and it should be the default rather than a button - a setting for "give the text room" is a question nobody wanted to be asked.

The overview grid. Here I would rather not add the option, and it is worth saying why. The note cards already respond to the available width: two columns from 520px, three from 720px, four from 900px, measured on the container rather than the window - so a note board in a narrow window behaves like a phone, which is the point. A manual column count would sit on top of that and fight it at every width except the one it was chosen at.

What I suspect you are actually running into is that four columns at a wide desktop width makes each card narrow enough that the text stops being readable at a glance. That is a real problem, and the answer is a maximum column count or a minimum card width, not a preference - the layout should stay right without anyone tuning it.

So: the dialog gets wider, and I will look at the top end of the grid. If the squishing you mean happens at a specific window width, tell me which - that decides whether the ceiling belongs at three columns or at a card width.

The first half is done and on main - the note dialog now opens at the width the app already uses for its content-heavy dialogs (Documents, Contacts, Shopping, Budget) rather than the narrow form width. It applies to both panes, so the reading view of a note gets the same room as the editor.

The grid ceiling is still open, and the question above stands: at which window width do the cards get too narrow for you? That decides whether the answer is capping the column count or setting a minimum card width.

Leaving this open for the second half. The question from above still stands and it is the one that decides the fix: at which window width do the cards get too narrow for you? That is what separates capping the column count from setting a minimum card width, and I would rather build the one that actually matches what you are seeing than guess between them.
