Currently content pickers only allow to select existing content, so often content editors have to go to an archive, create content node and back to the content picker property to select content node.
Perhaps it could be an opt-in feature to enable in configuration of content picker / MNTP.
Maybe it also aligns with media picker, were a media can be uploaded directly and selected.
I image an action "create", which initially allow content editor to select destination (if picker is configuration to a start node via dynamic root node, e.g. a single archive perhaps it can pre-select this as parent) and next create an content node under this parent node as normally if content editor created content directly in archive.
It can possible allow creation of content via infinite editing and allow content editor to select content afterwards without loosing context.
I had a similar request in Contentment package, where it list data from content nodes:
