There is a Inner Error C1001 When build with sqlite3mc_vc15.sln

When I build sqlite3mc_vc15.sln with release | win32 , there will encounter a Inner error C1001 :

When I build sqlite3mc_vc15.sln with release | win32 , there will encounter a Inner error C1001 :

I can confirm that VS 2017 fails with this compiler error. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do about this. The function where the error occurs just calls a single intrinsic function. No idea, how that could be simplified.

There are 3 options to work around the problem:

1. Disable cipher aegis by specifying the symbol HAVE_CIPHER_AEGIS=0 for the preprocessor.
2. Disable optimization in the project settings for the release build
3. Use a different compiler - I verified that it works with VS 2015, VS 2019, and VS 2022. Only VS 2017 is affected - and only in release mode.

Which option may be the best for you depends on your actual needs.

Some research revealed that VS 2017 is known to have various problems with optimization, especially with AVX2 and AVX512 instructions. It may be possible to replace

    return _mm512_broadcast_i32x4(_mm_set_epi64x(a, b));

by a different formulation, but I'm not an expert for AVX2 and AVX512 instructions. I simply adjusted the code of the libaegis library to meet the needs of SQLite3 Multiple Ciphers.

Well, disabling optimization works globally and will slow down all encryption algorithms.

Since VS2017 won't reach its end-of-life until April 2027, I applied in commit 88bc619 a patch for this compiler only. Other Visual Studio versions will not be affected.
