indexing on every wakeup

i'm not shure if this is normal (and so i didn't bother yet to reset things or delete the cache) but everytime i wake up the device it reindexes the book. somehow i think, that it wasn't like that in the beginning. is this behaviour expected?

No it's not expected, I've had people report this and deleting the .crosspoint/ folder helps this. Just back up your global_stats.bin file to keep your all-time stats

Yes it will. Connecting to the web UI (File Transfer > Create Hotspot) to set your settings is a faster way to add OPDS servers, wifi network and kosync servers instead of doing it through the device with the janky keyboard input.

If you want to be more precise with deletion to keep things as-is as much as you can, you can delete the individual .crosspoint/epub_<hash> folder for the books that keep indexing until it stops, but I don't think that helped others. You can try though.

i didn't dare yet to reset those things. i'll try it if i'm done with the book that i'm reading at the moment

I'm using the latest xlarge version on my x3 and it takes about 9 seconds to wake from sleep, which seems too long. It doesn't say "indexing" though, only "loading." Is this the same problem? I've tried deleting the .crosspoint/ folder and the wake time is the same.

Just tried Crosspoint nightly and it loads in 5.6 seconds! When I tried Crosspoint 1.3.0 it would load in 4.8s.

Okay so I can't seem to replicate it on my end so if you're up for it, I've included a debug build that logs extra stuff. This build is based on my development branch which is up to date with Crosspoint's master branch. Once you get it on your device, go to https://www.serialmonitor.org/. Change the "Baud Rate" in the upper right hand corner to "115200" and then click on "Connect" on the bottom left. Select your X3's serial port from the popup. Press some buttons to make sure the logs are working. You should start seeing activity showing up. Once that's confirmed, put the device to sleep, and then turn it on. Share those logs with me.

For the firmware, remove the .zip extension and then flash (this was the only way to get it to attach here).

I got this running on my x3, but when I put the device to sleep it disconnects and stops recording logs altogether. I also can't connect while it's asleep. But here's me pressing the power button while it's asleep, connecting to serialmonitor while it wakes up as fast as I could, pressing next page a few times, then putting it to sleep.

a small update on this topic: if the x3 powers off because no buttons are pressed (if i fall asleep...) there's no overlay and waking up is quick and without indexing. if i power it of with a longpress on the powerbutton the overlay appears and if i power it on again it takes quite long and does the indexing thing. i guess the auto-power-off works normal and the manual power-off has some bug. maybe this helps

What do you mean there's no overlay? Do you have Quick Resume on Timeout set to ON and Sleep Screen set to something other than Quick Resume? If so, that would explain it. Auto-sleep timeout can use the Quick Resume path, while manual sleep still uses the normal sleep-screen path. Quick Resume saves a snapshot of the last page before sleep and restores that on boot, which makes wake feel much faster. Regular sleep goes through the normal boot/resume flow, so it may need to rebuild the reader page and can show "Indexing" while doing that.

that would explain it. i didn't notice that quick resume is an option in the sleepscreensettings too. it's really fast now and i'm using a flipcase anyway, so the cute overlay isn't that important
