Tip

This release brings compatibility to the X4 Pro. I have plans for features and UI updates, but for now this is a working version for those waiting for Crossink support.

I'd appreciate help verifying the following:

• All UI components are touch-friendly on X4 Pro/Sticky devices
• All Quick Action items launch as expected
• X3/X4 devices do not display any touch-only related UI elements
• Power + Up button combo shortcuts work as expected

Changes in RC-2

• Full Xteink X4 Pro USB Drive support. Go to File Transfer > USB Drive while your device is USB-connected and it should pop-up as a drive on your computer. Note: It may take about 30 seconds for it to actually appear.
• You can now use Inky to send files over USB to your X4 Pro.
• The Power + Up button combo can now be assigned to a shortcut. Get to it from Settings > Controls > Power button > Power + Up
• New Page Turn Gesture setting in Settings > Controls with options for: Tap & Swipe (default), Tap Only, Swipe Only, Inverted Tap (for lefties), and Disabled (no page turn gestures but swiping up/down to trigger those actions still work)
• New "Quick Lock" shortcut for locking the device without actually putting it to sleep. This disables all buttons (and the touchscreen) and must be unlocked with the same button shortcut.
• Wi-Fi passwords are now shown while entering them.
• KOReader Sync no longer risks crashing from a render stack overflow (fixes KOReader sync causes crash on X4 Pro #529).
• Quick Resume no longer shows a blank page after EPUB next-chapter indexing (fixes Quick Resume shows blank screen #535).
• TOC footnotes now return to the correct reading position (fixes No way to return from footnotes back to the book text #537).
• Reading cache settings now include touch buttons for clearing the cache (fixes Cannot Clear Reading Cache on x4 Pro #533).
• Touchscreen disabling now only takes effect when touch input is disabled (fixes When touch is disabled, home button doesn't work (X4 Pro) #534).
• Nearby Position Sync startup is more reliable (fixes Syncing stats between X4 and X4 Pro not working #531).
• Touch context menus now show up properly (fixes Context menus aren't working on touch devices #532).
• Quick Actions no longer trigger incorrect actions or leave stale popups behind (fixes Quick actions goes back to main menu #524 and Quick actions modal doesn't close after Look Up Word #525).
• Quick Actions modal closes before going to sleep (fixes Quick actions modal doesn't close when choosing sleep #543)
• Large EPUBs with thousands of chapters can now finish indexing on X3/X4 without running out of memory.
• Touch releases are now handled correctly in settings and option popups.
• Custom sleep-image folders load faster and rebuild correctly after file changes.
• OPDS browsing no longer risks overflowing the Wi-Fi task stack on ESP32-S3 devices.
• Nearby sync and transfer status messages now wrap correctly instead of overlapping.

• Fonts now display their installed point sizes next to their name (addresses Same font in multiple sizes does not work intuitively #491)
• The boot-up splash screen has been removed. You will now wake directly to your last screen

• Empty crash report after flashing due to false watchdog error

Tip

If you experience any problems, please clear your caches before opening an issue. Start with the least invasive and work your way down to the most invasive if problems persist after each step.

1. Delete book cache (In-reader menu > Delete book cache)
2. From your SD card: Delete the individual .crosspoint/epub_<hash> folder for the book giving you issues
3. Delete all reading cache (Settings > System > Files & Cache > Clear Reading Cache)
4. From your SD card: Delete ALL .crosspoint/epub_<hash> folders and recent.json and state.json
5. Back up your global_stats.bin and then delete the entire .crosspoint/ folder
