FAQ
This page explains useful interactions that may not be obvious from the interface.
Tap the middle of the reading surface to show the reader controls and options.
Press and hold a loaded comic or EPUB image. The image opens in the fullscreen image viewer.
In the viewer, pinch or double-tap to zoom, drag while zoomed to pan, and tap inside the image to reset zoom and position. Tap outside the image or press Back to close it.
Image-only EPUB pages also support pinch and pan directly in the reader. On mixed text-and-image pages, normal reader navigation and text selection keep ownership of the touch gestures.
Press and hold the visible image in the fullscreen viewer, then choose Download from the menu. The image is saved to Downloads/Lagrange Reader.
Open Reader options and choose a tap-zone layout. Available layouts include Previous / Menu / Next, Vertical thirds, Kindle, L-shape, Edge, and Menu only. Horizontal and vertical inversion can be configured independently.
Enable Turn pages with volume buttons in Reader options. Volume Down goes to the logical next page and Volume Up goes to the logical previous page by default. Swap volume button actions reverses the mapping.
Volume buttons retain normal Android volume behavior while an audiobook session is active, including paused playback.
Tap the speed control, shown as a value such as 1× or 1.5×, and choose a speed from 0.75× to 2×. The selected speed is remembered across audiobooks.
Pressing and holding Speed does not customize the current book's speed.
In the full audiobook player, press and hold the rewind or forward button. Choose an interval from the dialog. Rewind and forward intervals are configured separately.
Tap rewind to go back by the configured interval or forward to skip ahead by the configured interval. You can also drag the book or chapter progress bar.
Tap Chapter or the chapter-list button, then choose a chapter. Playback seeks to the selected chapter.
Open the audiobook player and tap Sleep, then choose a timer duration.
The full player includes book and chapter seeking, chapter selection, rewind and forward controls, playback speed, sleep timer, session history, lock mode, cover viewing, and play/pause.
Seek confirmation is enabled by default. The requested position is applied immediately while playback continues, then a dialog lets you keep the new position or return to the previous one. Choose Don't show confirmations again to disable this behavior in Options.
On Book Detail, tap Available file or the file summary. Select the EPUB, PDF, comic, or audiobook file you want. The picker stays open until you dismiss it.
They show the supported formats available for that book, such as EPUB, PDF, or AUDIO. A download indicator means that format is stored locally on the device.
Completed downloads of supported EPUB, PDF, CBZ, CBR, CB7, and audiobook files can be opened offline. CBR and CB7 files are extracted locally when needed.
Yes. Downloads continue when the app is in the background or the screen is off. Active downloads show progress and can be cancelled. Failed downloads can be retried or cleared.
Android may hide download notifications if notification permission is denied, but the download itself continues.
The Offline library cache stores selected library details and cover thumbnails for offline browsing. It does not download readable book files. Download the individual book format when you want to read or listen offline.
Where actions are available, press and hold a book card to open the same actions as its overflow menu. Depending on the book state, these may include marking it read or unread, downloading, retrying, cancelling, or deleting its local copy.
Preview opens a book without saving normal reading progress, listening progress, resume position, active-reader state, or reading-session history. EPUB, PDF, and comic previews start from the beginning.
Tap the Preview status bar or card and confirm that you want to enable reading or listening progress. The current position is preserved when the session is promoted.
Audiobook Preview pauses before the confirmation. Cancelling leaves playback paused and keeps the session in Preview mode.
Yes. Local listening history preserves exact positions and can be used to seek. Server reading history contains analytics sessions and does not provide an exact seek position.
Reader appearance and navigation settings are saved per library. This includes tap zones, inversion, reading direction, EPUB text size, spacing, themes, margins, and font choices.
Open EPUB Reader options. Text size can be adjusted from 90% to 200%. You can choose the publisher font, built-in accessibility fonts, or import one .ttf or .otf font.
Pull down on Book Detail, Series, Authors, Local books, Statistics, or Achievements.
Back dismisses the current modal or returns to the immediately preceding detail, reader, or player context. From a top-level destination other than Home, Back returns to Home. From Home, Android handles Back normally.
The app does not currently provide audiobook Cast output or Android Auto integration. Holding Speed does not provide custom per-book speed settings. MOBI, AZW, AZW3, and FB2 are not supported.
