Better late than never - adding a minimal console example for anyone who lands here.

The moving parts: ConnectionFactory (wraps the connection + transaction, takes a SimpleInjector Container), DapperRepository for CRUD, and UnitOfWork if you need transactional scope. Models inherit BaseModel with a [Key] property - Save() decides insert vs update by whether the key is 0.

Connection string comes from app.config (the factory picks it up via the base class). For MVC it's the same wiring, just done once in Application_Start.
