I'm absolutely certain there are far more important features (in terms of priority) than launching images with the mouse. Most power users who would be interested in this tool probably prefer to use the keyboard anyway.

In a modern bios, mouse support probably exists so it wouldn't be a bad idea for ventoy to support it.

And anyone who's ever tried to navigate a BIOS with a mouse knows that this is one of those completely unnecessary features.

Maybe manufacturers should focus on NOT shipping EFI test certificates with their final versions that undermine the entire "Secure Boot" security chain, instead of implementing unnecessary mouse support?

I'm quite certain there are more important features for Ventoy that should be addressed. BTRFS was one of them, and it was far more important than mouse support. And I'm sure others would come to mind as well; after all, there are still plenty of environments that Ventoy simply doesn't work well with yet.

Feel free to call mouse support a gimmick, but on some motherboards, the keyboard navigation is bad enough that you might as well use the mouse instead. Besides, there is always going to be a group out there that actually prefers to use the mouse where possible.

this is actually very useful . especially because some pc (specially notebooks) may not have a working keyboard . so being able to launch and use with mouse is useful and interesting.

but, if added, this should certainly be an optional like secure boot . to only put the drivers and things when when marked.
or even better , as a separate plugin to be put in the ventoy folder just like the vhd one.

Yes, if the plugin api supports such, then I think it would be best implemented as a plugin.

Basic UEFI mouse support already exists: mouse movement is mapped to arrow keys, left click to Enter, and right click to Esc.

In UEFI mode, it can be tested by pressing c to enter the GRUB console and running:

terminal_input --append mouse

You can also enable it by editing grub.cfg and uncommenting:
