This is usually caused by one of the following in Next.js auth flows:

1. Session/cookie not cleared on sign-out:
   Make sure your sign-out function properly clears the session cookie. If using NextAuth.js:

import { signOut } from 'next-auth/react';
signOut({ callbackUrl: '/signup' });

2. Email already exists in the database:
   If re-signing up with the same email, your backend may reject it as a duplicate. You need to either:
   Allow users to just sign in instead
   Or delete/deactivate the existing record before re-registering

3. Cached state issue:
   Try clearing your browser cookies and local storage, then attempt the sign-up again. If it works after clearing, the issue is stale client-side state.

4. Redirect loop:
   If you're being redirected back to the login page after sign-up, check your middleware.ts or auth guards — they may be treating the new session as unauthenticated.
   Could you share the exact error message or what happens when you try to re-sign up? That'll help narrow it down!
