Pull request overview
Updates the backport automation workflow so that cherry-picked commits to stable keep the original commit author as the committer as well, avoiding GitHub showing backports as committed by the release bot.
Changes:
- Removes the hardcoded bot
git config user.name/emailsetup. - Derives
user.name/user.emailfrom the PR’smerge_commit_shaand uses that identity for the cherry-pick.
💡 Add Copilot custom instructions for smarter, more guided reviews. Learn how to get started.

Backport to To resolve manually: git fetch origin stable
git checkout stable
git cherry-pick 5ff51ff612cba6d0ad7f3b606facab34b836f4b4
# Fix conflicts, then:
git cherry-pick --continue
git push origin stable |
Summary
git configwas hardcoded to the release bot identity, causing GitHub to show "authored by X and committed by workflow-devkit-release-bot[bot]" on every backported commitPush authentication is unaffected since it uses the app token from the checkout step, not the git identity.
