Installation Issues

The CIA fails to install in FBI

  • Make sure your CFW is up to date (Luma3DS 13+)
  • Try re-downloading the .cia — the file may be corrupted
  • Ensure you have enough free space on your SD card

Tunez3DS doesn't appear on the home menu after installing

  • Try rebooting your 3DS after installation
  • Make sure the install completed without errors in FBI

Playback Issues

No sound when playing a track

  • Check your 3DS volume slider
  • Make sure the track is a valid MP3 file — other formats are not supported
  • Try a different MP3 to rule out a corrupted file

App crashes when opening a folder or playing a track

  • The file browser supports up to 256 entries per folder. If your Music folder has more than 256 items at the top level, move some into subfolders
  • Ensure the MP3 file isn't corrupted

Track ends but nothing else plays

  • Auto-advance is not yet implemented. You'll need to manually select the next track.

Display Issues

Album art isn't showing

  • Tunez3DS reads embedded album art from ID3 tags — art stored as a separate image file in the folder is not supported
  • Make sure the art is embedded in the MP3's tags (JPEG or PNG only)
  • You can embed art using a tool like MusicBrainz Picard or Mp3tag

Track title or artist shows the filename instead of the tag

  • The MP3 may not have ID3 tags. Use a tool like Mp3tag to add them.

Build Issues

No rule to make target '.../main.c'

  • Your build/ directory has stale cached paths. Run rm -rf build/ and try again.

ERROR: Image must be exactly 256 x 128 in size

  • Your banner.png is the wrong size. It must be exactly 256x128 pixels.

ERROR: Image must be exactly 48 x 48 in size

  • Your icon.png must be exactly 48x48 pixels.

FAQ

What file formats are supported? Only MP3 (.mp3) is currently supported.

Where does Tunez3DS look for music? It starts in sdmc:/Music. Subfolders are fully supported.

Can I use Tunez3DS on a DSi or DS? No — Tunez3DS is built for the 3DS only.

Does it work on New 3DS? Yes, it works on all 3DS models with CFW.

Will you add support for FLAC, OGG, or other formats? Not currently, but it may be considered for future releases.

How do I report a bug? Open an issue on the [GitHub Issues page] with as much detail as possible — what you were doing, what happened, and which version you're using.
